You won't sleep quite as soundly after seeing these chilling journeys into the darker side of human nature...

"KADS’ One Act Season featured a trio of short plays, all with plots that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, and more than a little on the scary side." Kimberley Shaw, Stage Whispers, 11 September 2019

Trivial Pursuits

19 July - 3 August 2019

By arrangement with Origin Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French Ltd

Written by Frank Vickery

A summer evening's barbecue is the setting for a meeting of the Trealaw and District Operatic Society. Next season's play is to be announced but Nick, the society's business manager, has promised the plum role to four different people. As the evening progresses complex relationships emerge, and moments of pure slapstick and farce alternate with real drama and pathos.

"Trivial Pursuits is proving a very popular choice, with sell-out houses throughout the season ... the capacity mid-week audience on the evening I attended were very appreciative of this theatrically themed comedy." Kimberley Shaw, Stage Whispers, 26 July 2019

Delius

10 May - 25 May 2019

By arrangement with the author

Written and directed by C. Aspden Pomfret

A fateful meeting between two very different personalities. Eric Fenby, a devout Christian and young musician, offers his services as amanuensis to his favourite composer, Frederick Delius, a semi-recluse living with his wife in provincial France. Aged, blind, paralyzed and passionately agnostic, Delius' acerbity is intensified by the world's indifference to his music. The two men struggle not only to create art in extremely difficult circumstances, but to overcome their diametrically opposed beliefs.

"Fabulous acting. At the end of a long day at work I reluctantly drove 40kms up into the Hills but am really pleased that I did not miss this production; one which I am sure will be on the Awards nomination list." Gordon the Optom, WA Theatre Reviews, 8 May 2019

Keeping Up Appearances: The Play

8 March - 23 March 2019

By arrangement with The Agency - London

Written by Roy Clarke

Directed by Anita Bound

A comedy by the author of the very popular 1990's UK TV series 'Keeping Up Appearances'. Highly-strung Emmett is directing a 'whodunnit' at the local village hall, but when Hyacinth manages to get herself cast in the role of 'Lady Malvern', disaster is quickly in the making!

"KADS’ Keeping Up Appearances was a sell out before it even opened, with this play based on the popular TV series, proving very popular with local audiences" Kimberley Shaw, Stage Whispers, 21 March 2019
