Kalamunda's premier community theatre since 1969...

Please be aware, KADS Theatre is NOT wheelchair accessible

From church to ambulance depot to performance venue, KADS Town Square Theatre has a long history... built as a church in 1928, KADS will celebrate the building's historry in 2028!

  • Built as St Barnabas church in 1928 to replace the original 1911 weatherboard building on the site

  • Deconsecrated in 1963 and became the St John Ambulance Depot

  • Acquired in 1977 by the Shire of Kalamunda

  • First used by KADS in 1981 to stage a production of the mystery classic "Gaslight"

  • And it's been our theatre home ever since then...

  • KADS Town Square Theatre seats 58 patrons in raked seating, and every seat has an excellent view of the stage in this intimate theatre space

  • The licensed foyer bar serves snacks and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

  • Our large covered verandah and courtyard are perfect for enjoying a relaxing pre-show drink

  • Please note that the theatre is a heritage listed building owned by the City of Kalamunda and is currently not wheelchair accessible
